The Secret of Online Holiday Gift Selecting

There are two main reasons people choose to shop on the Internet: convenience and selection. The vast connectivity of the Internet allows a person to purchase items that they never dreamed of being available before. But this same limitless selection may also give a person a sense of being overwhelmed with options. To keep from being getting lost in the web, it is important to have a plan when you begin shopping. This will make selecting your present a lot easier. This was discussed in the previous article on The Secret of Online Holiday Shopping.

But what happens if you have no idea what to give as a gift. Or worse yet, you are buying for the person who has everything. "How can the Internet help me?," you ask. You have come to the right place.

There are actually three categories for the "gift selection challenged": 1) you know what you want but you do not know where to purchase it; 2) you have a category of items you are interested in but need help in making the final selection; and 3) you have no idea.

The last is probably the easiest. There are two great sites that I often use: Gifts24 and Perfect Present Picker. This is the type of site that, no only makes shopping easy, it makes it fun. You enter the person's interest, personality, and the occasion in the search engine. Once you hit next you will enter the person's sex/age, occupation, and lifestyle. From the information, they will find a list of perfect presents for your hard-buy-for individual. Easy and convenient. With the click of a few buttons, you can complete your shopping in a matter of minutes.

Secret 1- I use this many times just to jar my thoughts on what to buy someone. Probably 50% of the time when I use Perfect Present Picker, I go to other sites to make my purchase. But the other 50% of the time, I complete the process right there.

For those who have an idea of the type of item I have a couple of suggestions. First, we mentioned the Shopping bots last week. There are search engines that will help you find the lowest prices for an item. The two that come to my mind are www.mysimon.com and DealCatcher. You will find that DealCatcher will also calculate shipping cost for an item. If you have an ideal of what you want to purchase, then browse through these sites. What you will find is not only an excellent suggestion of what to purchase but also the lowest price for that item.
